Product Description

*The title Apparition of Face and Fruit Dish on a Beach' refers to three of the simultaneous images in the 1938 painting, though a careful study of the composition reveals a fourth image of a brown and white dog. Dali's double image paintings were wildly popular with the American public. Dali continuously kept refining his 'paranoic-critical method,' a creative process of interpreting unconscious thoughts and feelings, into increasingly elaborate visual illusions called 'double images.' These double images are actually individual compositions depicting commonplace objects and surroundings from which multiple images emerge. *Salvador Dali (1904-1989) - A Spanish artist renowned for 'surrealism', cubism, futurism, technical skill, precise draftsmanship, striking & bizarre images in his work. Major themes in his work include dream sequences, the subconscious, sexuality, religion, science and his closest personal relationships. He used this method to realize the dreams and imagination he had in his mind, changing the real world the way he wanted and not necessarily what it was. Dal's artistic repertoire included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design, photography, fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism.
