Product Description

*Archeological Reminiscence Millet's Angelus' : Many Artists were fascinated by the painting "Angelus" by Millet in 19th and 20th century, including the great Van Gogh. Salvador Dali was not an exception. Dal believed it held messages of repressed sexual aggression. He was also of the opinion that the two figures were praying over their buried child, rather than to the Angelus. The low horizon line and the almost empty landscape emphasize the monumentality of the strange structure in the foreground. Dali transforms the Millet figures into monuments not because they are to be seen as dead symbols, but because they represent ever-present ancient principles, the foundations of human sexuality. *Salvador Dali (1904-1989) - A Spanish artist renowned for 'surrealism', cubism, futurism, technical skill, precise draftsmanship, striking & bizarre images in his work. Major themes in his work include dream sequences, the subconscious, sexuality, religion, science and his closest personal relationships. He used this method to realize the dreams and imagination he had in his mind, changing the real world the way he wanted and not necessarily what it was. Dal's artistic repertoire included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design, photography, fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism.
