Good day Mr. Gauguin (1889)- This�('Bonjour, Monsieur Gauguin') was inspired by the painting of Gustave Courbet, 'Bonjour, Monsieur Courbet' of 1854. Unlike Courbet, Gauguin does not meet his patron in the painting, but an ordinary Breton girl. He is withdrawn, as if distracted from reality. It is probably the only full-figure self-portrait of Gauguin.
