Product Description

*Portrait of Dora Maar* (1937 )- In 1936, Picasso met a new woman, Dora Maa, a young Yugoslavian photographer. Dora Maar is seen magnificently seated in an armchair, smiling and resting her head on a long-fingered hand in Portrait of Dora Maar, 1937. With a red eye and a green eye gazing in opposite directions, the face is portrayed in a frontal and profile view. For many, these distortions represent the core essence of Picasso's work. Despite, or possibly because of, the aberrations, Picasso achieved a stunning resemblance that could be described as "truer than life." The deformations largely serve an expressive purpose: the goal is to capture all of the qualities of the sitter rather than to alter reality. *PABLO PICASSO (1881-1973) is universally renowned as one of the most influential and celebrated artists of the twentieth century; in terms of art, and art movements. Before the age of 50, the Spanish born artist had become the most well-known name in modern art, with the most distinct style and eye for artistic creation.
