Product Description

*The Endless Enigma', as its title suggests, composed of no less than six different subjects, is by far the most complex and enigmatic of the multiple-image paintings that Dali made in 1938. When this was first shown in the 1939 exhibition of Dali's multiple-image paintings in New York, it attracted vast crowds. To illustrate, In exhibition, Dali reproduced the six different states of the work, all loosely sketched in red ink on tracing paper, which revealed the artistic process through which the image was constructed. The six individual segments that eventually coalesce into a single, seamless image in the finished painting were also reproduced in line engravings in the exhibition catalog. *Salvador Dali (1904-1989) - A Spanish artist renowned for 'surrealism', cubism, futurism, technical skill, precise draftsmanship, striking & bizarre images in his work. Major themes in his work include dream sequences, the subconscious, sexuality, religion, science and his closest personal relationships. He used this method to realize the dreams and imagination he had in his mind, changing the real world the way he wanted and not necessarily what it was. Dal's artistic repertoire included painting, graphic arts, film, sculpture, design, photography, fiction, poetry, autobiography, essays and criticism.
