Product Description

*The Thames below Westminster (1871): View from Victoria Quay of the Thames and the Houses of Parliament, which are obscured by other objects. Despite being in the Impressionist style, it shares a photographic feel with many of Monet's other paintings. Once more, Monet creates his ethereal river flow with a shattered brushstroke. He also makes a reference to the haze and fog that engulfed London in the latter half of the 19th century once more. The image is composed of grey tones, with a pinkish tint seen on the horizon. *CLAUDE MONET (1845-1870) is one of the world's most famous painters, well-known today for his series of serene water lilies paintings, Claude Monet was instrumental in forging an entirely new direction for the world of art & impressionism. His distinctive use of colour, vision, and conformation would have a long influence on fine art, inspiring many great artists like Van Gogh.
